The announcement will
take place at the monthly meeting of the Santa Barbara County Board of
Education. Following the announcement, media members will be able to pose
questions to the Teacher of the Year and conduct individual interviews as
requested.
Background information
about the teacher will be provided at the press conference. A press release (to
be embargoed until 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4) from this office is forthcoming; it
will contain the name and some background information on the winner.
The designation is for
“2018” because this teacher will be the county’s representative to compete for
the state Teacher of the Year, and then proceed to compete for the title of the
national 2018 Teacher of the Year.
